After The War Part VI by ~Anglaise:iconAnglaise:

The trip from Aslan’s tent at the Stone Table to Cair Paravel was, for the most part, rather uneventful. The great cat allowed her only a single respite from the rather bumpy ride that was traveling upon his back, and even such was short, despite the fact that she had threatened to try and kill him again- an empty threat, even she knew it as such- should he not let her rest a little longer. No, soon enough she was back upon him, and before long, the two had finally reached the castle. Despite the fact that the sun had gone down a short ten or twenty minutes ago, there remained a guard at the castle, and it was this stunned guard that Aslan had to command not to attack the woman now riding astride him- much to her gratefulness, though she would never admit such aloud. It was almost eerie, the resemblance her arrival at Cair Paravel held to her arrival at the camp near the Stone Table, how, while each and every pair of eyes were upon her, there were some that were filled with fear, some filled with anger, and still she easily held her head aloft, not at all threatened by such. True, there was now the addition of some filled with surprise, with shock, but she could care less about those that stared at her as Aslan came to a place of rest, stilling such that she easily set her feet on the ground and stood on her own, peering over the guards out before the castle as the large double doors of the entrance opened in a painfully slow fashion, allowing the both of them entrance, and entrance they soon took.

While she had been Queen of Narnia, Jadis had avoided, very much so, Cair Paravel, not at all liking the structure where the four thrones sat, where the four humans would sit once she herself had been dethroned. Now that she resided once more within the hallowed halls, it took all the strength she could muster not to shiver in discomfort. With a hand on the lion- which she would claim was for mere presentation purposes than anything- she walked into the great hall, past the pillars, to the four that sat at their thrones. For a moment she took the time to notice that the older daughter of Eve- who was now watching her carefully- had placed a pillow on her own throne, for comfort of course, though soon realized she was trying to distract herself from the larger picture, and soon brought her eyes to meet that of her new… King. Ugh, it was such a horrid though, even in her mind, and even as she looked at him, sitting there so regally, the taste of bile rose from her stomach.

All the same, she- painfully- sunk into a small curtsy, her eyes staying locked on his own as she did so. “Your majesty,” she managed to get out- barely- and it was only when he failed to hold her gaze any longer that she lowered her own in the show of ‘respect’ before quickly straightening.

“You didn’t have any troubles getting here, did you?” Peter asked, and it was with a small amount of malevolent glee that the White Witch noticed that such a question was not directed at her, but at the great beast beside her, rather amused that she had so easily put him on edge- with nothing but a look! Oh, this certainly would make things more interesting for her, that much she knew…

Aslan’s head rose to look at Peter at his words, his gaze lifting from the small Queen nuzzled happily in his mane to answer him, first with a short nod, then with words. “No, no trouble. It has been a long day though, it might be best if we all retire before we begin anything…”

Aslan,” she snapped at such words, instantly drawing in his surprised gaze into a glare of her own as she warned him, “do not presume.” Holding his gaze as he seemed to appraise her, she was rewarded to see him bow his head in apology, and as such looked back to the high King with a raised chin. “Such responsibility does not, and should not, fall second to rest. We should begin immediately.”

For a moment she saw Peter look between the both of them before- much to her amusement, really- she saw him sigh as though in defeat, though his words had her once more glaring at him. “Perhaps we should all just turn in for the night… Aslan’s right, we can start in the morning.” Jadis could feel her fingernails piercing the flesh of her palms as her hands balled into tight fists and, despite the fact that the two Queens took their leave then, the younger of the King moving to follow- after a glare was thrown her way, though she barely took any notice of it- she stood still, her angered eyes still upon the high King before her. For the moment he appeared to be watching his siblings go off, and it was only when they had reached the doors and were finally exiting that he seemed to notice he was being glared at. “What?”

It was amazing, to her, that such an idiotic, obviously uneducated being could have taken her place. Brawn before brains… she couldn’t help but think as she grit her jaw, calming herself just that little bit so that she was able to watch how much of her anger sidled into her words. “Were it not for the fact that you desired my advice, my King,,” she started, unable to help but spit the title at him, barely registering how such had made him frown as she concluded, “I would not even be here. The very least you could do is consider what it is I say before tossing it aside.”

The moment that Peter’s gaze left her own, the White Witch knew it had instead traveled to the great cat beside her, and as such wasn’t surprised when he moved to intervene, turning his head to the side as though to nudge her shoulder, advising her in turn to take a more… serene approach, to put it lightly. Before he could even have the honor of touching her, however, her hand came out and pushed his great muzzle away; she knew when she was being dismissed, after all. As such, it was a simple turn that took her away from the two that had offended her so, a simple turn that took her out of the hall- and where did such a simple turn take her? Well, it was anger that drove her at that point, and with anger came a certain lack of caring, and it was that lack of caring that was channeled towards where she was going; she could go where she damn well pleased at that point, no one would dare mess with her at that particular point in time, should they value their dignity- and their heads.

Homaigoodness, it's been a while since my last update to this. It's been sad how busy I've been, really, and I'm somewhat embarrassed that only now I'm finally getting this thing up... SORRY! -hides in a corner-

Anyway, yes, the next installment of my little Jadis x Aslan fic... The only real comment I can put on this is that, after careful thought as to what would 'go down' when Jadis and Aslan finally got to Cair Paravel was that something that Peter- or the Pevensies in general- would do would simply piss Jadis off, and... look what happened! n_n;

I actually was going to try and put this up for Christmas and act like it's a Christmas present, but it's currently three hours into Boxing Day here, so... yeah! Happy Boxing Day! n_n;

A BELATED CHRISYMAS PRESENT! OH JOY!!!

This was pretty funny. Aslan's probably wondering what the hell he's unleashed on Narnia. He took her muzzle pushing quite well, I think. Sort of a 'the things I suffer through for the one I love' sort of thing. (Cuddles the JadisxAslan-ness)

I wonder what will happen next...besides Jadis getting pissed off on a regualr basis. Will Aslan stay? Will Jadis maim someone? Will they bloody well stop dancing around one another?!

(Lays out a plate of cookies to inspire your Muse)

Well, he did get her into the mess to begin with, so he probably figures he deserved it, especially since he did try to harness her nature when he knows her better than anyone. -chuckles-

Well, I doubt Jadis would actually maim... now, get mental revenge yes- you'll just have to wait and see! n_n

And thank you very much for the cookies; I'm actually in the process of writing up a music meme for the pairing, so that'll be up before Part VII. =3

This is true. You can so tell that she'd rather be dead than helping the Pevensie pack...especially Peter, around whom she could probably run circles in the intelligence department. I laughed so hard at her fuming over Peter's obvious lack of brains.

MENTAL REVENGE IS FUN, BTW. As stated before, Peter's gonna get his ass kicked, figuratively speaking. I can see Jadis making little dolls of the people she hates the absolute most (otherwise she'd have a doll for everyone in Narnia) and abusing them when she gets mad. LOL.

The mental image of the Pevensies and the rest of Narnia discovering that their creator/savior/almighty leader guy and the psychotic bitch queen from hell are in a relationship is one that fills me with unparalleled joy. ^^
